Southampton's Viridi raises €2.6M to turn captured CO2 into chemical products
Turning pollution into everyday products – Southampton’s Virdi raises €2.6 million to transform waste
Viridi, a University of Southampton spinout, closed a €2.6M round led by Odyssey Ventures with co-investment from Alphatron Impact Ventures and strategic backing from Thaioil's TOP Ventures. The company makes a catalyst that lets existing factory equipment swap fossil feedstocks for captured CO2, starting with surfactants launched as Vireya in 2025. The funding will scale the technology and support expansion into Asia and the US.
