Bristol’s Siloton wins €9.98 million Innovate UK contract to develop its handheld eye imaging system
Siloton, a Bristol-based MedTech startup, won a €9.98M (£8.4M) Innovate UK contract to accelerate its handheld GiraffeOCT eye imaging system. The two-year contract covers in-clinic and at-home versions plus trials with Sunderland Specialist Eye Hospital, and Siloton expects it could cut development by up to two years. The company plans to raise further investment for its second-generation CheetahOCT device.
The contract shows how public quantum funding can move a photonic-chip OCT scanner from lab hardware toward NHS clinics and home use.
