Ada to merge with Dialpad in deal reportedly valuing firm at $600 million
Toronto-based AI customer service company Ada confirmed it is merging with California-based Dialpad in an all-share deal that The Globe and Mail reports values Ada at about $600 million CAD, down from the $1.2 billion USD valuation it reached in its 2021 Series C. Ada said the combined company aims to become a leader in agentic customer communications, and CEO Mike Murchison said the merger will accelerate their joint product roadmap.
The deal shows how a Canadian AI customer service startup is being valued well below its 2021 peak as it merges with a US communications firm.
